The above photo is the view of the fire from Marine Hill.

The fire was so intense, the smoke was seen miles away. There were many reports of fire, especially from Boston…This is the Arlington Street Church, located at the corner of the Public Garden’s in Boston.

Not even the water front was safe from the wrath of the flames. Reported: Two schooners, docked near the Oil Co., went up in flames, however, caught in time, the damages was minimal. Feared, the shipyard would also be at risk, fire boats on the harbor were despatched…with no reports of loss…what potentially could have been a disaster, was quickly contained.
